Sugar Around the World: Contributing to a Better FutureIn Memory of Julian Price |
TheChairman this year is José Orive, Executive Director of the International SugarOrganization (ISO) since 2014 and now is in his last year at the ISO. This year’s theme of the importance ofconsidering the sucro-energetic world in a holistic way could not be morerelevant to José’s vision for the sugar and ethanol world about which he is so passionate. The need to encourage and inspire the best inpeople working in the sector so that they can flourish and bring out new ideasfor the improvement of the whole sector is essential and something that isbeing done across the board with investment in people and technology. Sugar, be it cane or beet, is not grown insplendid isolation; it is part of a broad agricultural and economic picturethat impacts the way we all live now and will continue to do so in the future. This year’s seminar brings together expertsand world leaders who can bring about change with their energy, know-how andvision. It promises to be once more THEsugar event of the year which really must be attended.
